Life Update

It has been close to two months since my last post and while there has been a lot going on life has been about the same. In no particular order here are some of the highlights since the last post:

  • Jackie and Ian got engaged.
  • Another birthday weekend in Indiana.
  • Nick’s bachelor party last weekend with the wedding in 6 days.
  • Yankee’s failed to win the World Series.
  • Weekend in Jersey along with a trip up to Connecticut to visit some family
  • Buying an epic mount for my priest in WoW

Free Ticket Weekend

What was supposed to be a pretty uneventful weekend turned out to be one of the best ones that I’ve had in a while. It started Thursday morning when I was sitting around with the guys from work when a manager from another group came by and gave me tickets to the Jets @ Redskins. This was followed by Friday at Niko’s when Chris got a call from Sabrina with news that she had scored free tickets to the Jays @ O’s.

The Orioles game was surprisingly good despite the match up. I never expect too much from my trips to Camden Yards when the Yankees are in town but my jaw dropped when we got to our seats and I saw that we were sitting in the second row behind the O’s dugout. Chris Benson pitched a good game behind some solid defense, besides Tejada who I might add is no Jeter.

The Jets game was the first football game that I’ve been to in a long while. It was icing to see them win @ Fedex Field, which is probably the worst designed football stadium ever.

Time to watch the Yanks continue the massacre.

No Boston This Weekend

Well, it looks like I won’t be going to Boston this weekend for reasons out of my control but that doesn’t mean I won’t be able to go some other time. Let’s hope the oysters and Summer Ale will wait for me.

Baseball Question

What do the Cubs, Orioles, White Sox, and Red Sox’s have in common?

Weekend Update

It’s hard to imagine that I was complaining about being bored just a short time ago with how things have picked up recently. Life has gone from being just busy to hectic. I’m normally really helpful to other people at work whether it’s reviewing designs, stepping through a debugger, or helping inexperienced people load code on the vehicle and do field tests. However my patience has been put to the test this past week with the amount of crap that I’ve had to deal with.

Besides craziness at work I’ve been to the past 2 Yankees @ O’s games, on Friday and Saturday, and I’m taking it easy today by just watching the game at home. I was going to try to get some standing room only tickets but I spent too much time at the farmers market this morning. I bumped into an old college friend who I haven’t seen in a couple of years but I have the tendency to bump into her every couple of years and despite always exchanging phone numbers and spending the time to catch up when we do bump into each other, neither of us have ever made an effort to stay in constant contact. This time I hope to do better but with a busy couple of weeks coming up, I’m not so sure if it’s going to happen.

Busy Again

In a recent post I commented on being in a rut because there wasn’t much to look forward to but that has completely changed in the span of a week. In that span I bought tickets for Indiana for another birthday weekend, work has picked up considerably until the end of October, and lastly the social calendar looks like it might be tied up on Friday/Saturday nights for the foreseeable future. Combine them with my new found obsession with Battlestar Galactica, reading Wheel of Time (again), and Titan Quest being Diablo 2 reincarnate, I think I’ll start looking forward to the day where I can be bored again.
